'Urban' Jungle

Urbanisation  is  here  to  stay ! ... period !

... and  it  is  only  going to  accelerate  as  more  and  more  people  are  moving  towards  cities, ... smaller  towns  are  fast  developing  into  bigger  towns  and  newer  areas  are  being  developed ... often  or  invariably  compromising  the  existing  green  cover  and  the  water  bodies  around !

Our  increasing  population  is  also  directly  contributing  to  the  urbanisation.

Against  this  backdrop, it is  all  the  more  important  to  spare  a  thought  or  two  for  the  wild life  which  had  earlier  known only  these  areas  as  their  home !

Can  we  not  have,

Cleaner  Coast  Lines, Cleaner  Water  Bodies

Green  Cover

Restricted  Areas  for  the  flora/fauna, so  as  to  keep  a  check  on  rampant  human  intrusions

Planting  Of  Food  Plants / Fruit  Trees  to  attract  and  feed  birds, butterflies  etc

Such  activities can  easily  be  undertaken  in Public  Placs, Office  as  well  as  Residential  Complexes, New  Developments  ... etc

In  fact,  this  must  be  a  COMPULSORY  part  of  the planning  process  for  Upgradation  of  existing  areas  as  well   as  Development  of  New  Areas !

However, more  important  is  the  monitoring  for  the  execution of  such  planning  in  these  upgrades  and  developments !
